Super Bowl final score: Saints vs. Colts
By D. Scriber  l Published: Sunday, February 07 2010 20:52

The New Orleans Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 Sunday night in Super Bowl 44, ending fruitless decades of attempts to win the National Football League's top title. Saints quarterback Drew Brees was chosen as the game's MVP. And despite their low ranking, New Orleans' defense made several critical plays, including an interception by Tracy Porter of Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning. Porter ran the ball in for a touchdown in the final minutes. This was the Saints' first appearance in the Super Bowl, ending an otherwise paltry 43-year history, including a bygone period in which Peyton Manning's father, Archie, was the Saints' quarterback.
