Singer Marie Osmond's son, Michael Blosil, has died, authorities told news sources on Saturday. However, authorities and Osmond have yet to confirm a report by Entertainment Tonight that said Blosil, 18, committed suicide by jumping from his apartment building Friday night in Los Angeles. Blosil left a suicide note, the report said. In a statement Osmond said only, “My family and I are devastated and in deep shock by the tragic loss of our dear Michael and ask that everyone respect our privacy during this difficult time." Osmond has cancelled her show tonight at the Flamingo casino in Las Vegas where she performs with her brother, Donny Osmond. ET also said Blosil reportedly suffered from depression in recent years, felt lonely, that he had no friends and did not fit in. If true, Blosil's death will surely be compared with Andrew Koenig's, the actor who played Boner on the classic sitcom "Growing Pains" and son of "Star Trek" star Walter Koenig (Checkov). Andrew committed suicide in Vancouver, according to his father earlier this week, after a long battle with depression.  Share |
