Space shuttle Endeavour: a picture perfect launch

nasa_launch_1After being postponed a day because of cloudy weather, the space shuttle Endeavour and its six-member rocketed away from Cape Canaveral, Florida, early this morning, filling the dark pre-dawn sky with an orange glow. It was the start of a 13-day mission that includes a docking with the International Space Station on Wednesday.

Among their responsibilities, astronauts are expected deliver a seven-windowed cupola that will be used as a control room for a robotic space arm, according to NASA.It was last "night" launch that NASA has scheduled and guests at the the terrace of Operations Support Building II at the Kennedy Space Center had a perfect view at 4:14 a.m., when Endeavour lifted off from Launch Pad 39A to begin the STS-130 mission.
